Dallas Mavericks Defeat Timberwolves to Take 2-0 Series Lead

The Dallas Mavericks overcame an 18-point deficit to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road Friday, winning 109-108 to take a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series. Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks with 33 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists, while Kristaps Porzingis added 25 points and 12 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 27 points and 13 rebounds, while D'Angelo Russell added 22 points. The Mavericks trailed by 18 points in the third quarter, but they rallied to outscore the Timberwolves 37-19 in the fourth quarter to take the win. Doncic hit a jumper with 20.9 seconds remaining to give the Mavericks the lead for good. The Timberwolves had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Anthony Edwards' three-point attempt bounced off the rim. The Mavericks will now have a chance to take a 3-0 lead in the series when they host Game 3 in Dallas on Sunday.
